Joe-the-Plumber Vetted More Than Obama-the-Presidential-Candidate [UPDATE]

Let’s see….

A Guy named Joe, who happens to be a plumber with ambitions for a bigger business, questioned and challenged a Guy named Barack, who happens to be running for President of the US/Leader of the Free World…

And within 24 hours The Media has given us more information about Joe’s life than they’ve given us about Barack’s life in the past 18 months!

Thanks to a diligent press corps… We now know about Joe’s professional licensing status, his income tax situation, his employment history, his domestic squabbles, his voting record, everything associated with his personal identity, his education. It’s probably been reported somewhere whether he wears boxers or briefs.

Thanks to a lazy press corps…We still don’t know what grades Obama made in college; how he got into Harvard; when he met Bill “the bomber” Ayers; when he stopped doing illegal drugs; his medical history; whether he still smokes cigarettes; the extent of his affiliation with socialist/communist organizations; why he’s no longer a licensed attorney; whether he lied on his Bar application; whether he’d qualify for a security clearance if he were just an “average joe;” what passport he used to travel to Pakistan in 1981; who his ex-girlfriends are; whether he was or still is an Indonesian citizen; why his Kenyan grandmother insists he was born there; whether he was ever legally named Barry Soetoro or anything else besides Barack Hussein Obama; why he needed the help of a crook to purchase his family home; where he was on Nov. 6 and 7, 1999; what the long-version of his birth certificate says; why he helped an anti-American, pro-Islamic candidate for Kenyan President against US interests; why he listened to Rev. Wright’s sermons for 20 years; how many times he took his kids to a Rev. Wright sermon; what he actually did as chair of the Annenberg Challenge; the depth of his relationship with ACORN…

Well, you get the idea.

But, really, I am SO relieved that the Mainstream Media has done its job vetting Joe The Plumber, who is NOT running for public office, but who had the AUDACITY to challenge Barack Hussein Obama, who wants my vote for President of the United States of America.

UPDATE 10/17/08 2:00 PM ET: From Drudge, here’s what John McCain had to say about Joe and Barack during a Florida campaign stop:

“Last weekend, Senator Obama showed up in Joe’s driveway to ask for his vote, and Joe asked Senator Obama a tough question. I’m glad he did; I think Senator Obama could use a few more tough questions.

“The response from Senator Obama and his campaign yesterday was to attack Joe. People are digging through his personal life and he has TV crews camped out in front of his house. He didn’t ask for Senator Obama to come to his house. He wasn’t recruited or prompted by our campaign. He just asked a question. And Americans ought to be able to ask Senator Obama tough questions without being smeared and targeted with political attacks.”

Good advice from Joe the Plumber

After watching the debate last night some might come to the conclusion that Obama won.
Not in this camp. Sure "Mr.Hollywood" (Obama) is an eloquent speaker and well rehearsed but I think it is important to remember the issues and where a candidate stands and voted on things.
I do not trust mere words or how a person can talk. That is not how I judge a person.
There are issues that are important to me. I do not want to go to a socialist society that believes we share the wealth. Taxing those more just because they are successful. Another issue is on Abortion. Look at the records on how they voted.
Do we want a president who believes an unborn child has no rights? Obama lacks experience especially military experience. He may claim he is not muslin but he was raised Muslim. Do we really want the President of our country with this background? It is unimaginable taking into the consideration of 9/11 with a country that hates us. I do not trust him.
Below is some pretty good advice from Joe the Plumber...

It's a Baby ... not a choice

I do not believe in abortion! I believe if you do not want a child you have it and give it up for adoption to someone who wants a child. I am sickened by hearing the "It is a woman's choice" What about the choice of that child? I did not fully understand the issue of partial birth abortion. I think I was afraid to google it because of what I would find and I did it today. What has become of the morals of the human society to do such a thing.
Here is a video of a doctor who explains how this procedure is done. (It is using a doll to demonstrate)
This is one of the issues I have looked into about our upcoming president.
I already knew who I would be voting for because of the issues that are important to me but this reinforced it for me.
This is a no brainer....McCain you got my vote!!!

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news On September 11, 2001. Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.. 'Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan . I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.. Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath. Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me. But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?

Sept.. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are 'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

God During the next 60 seconds, stop whatever you are doing, and take this opportunity. (Literally it is only 1 minute.) All you have to do is the following:

Stop and think and appreciate God's power in your life, for doing what you know is pleasing to Him. If you are not ashamed to do this, follow the instructions. Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of Me, I will be ashamed of you before My Father'

If you are not ashamed, copy and send this message....only if you believe 'Yes, I love my God. He is my fountain of Life and My Savior. He Keeps me going day and night. Without Him, I am no one. But with Him, I can do everything. Christ is my strength.'

Fisher Price Cuddle and Coo Doll Promotes Islam in the US

This is crazy.... do not buy this doll!

Update:
Toy Doll Sparks Complaints

By Chris Wright, The News On 6

TULSA, OK --A popular child's doll is being pulled off of shelves all across Green Country. Many are convinced Fisher Price's Cuddle and Coo Doll is saying something controversial when she speaks.

The doll looks like your typical child's toy, but it doesn't sound like one and that's causing quite a stir nationwide.

When you listen closely to the doll, not only does she say, "goo goo, gaga, and mama." But, the Fisher Price Cuddle and Coo Doll also says what sounds like, "Islam is the light."

Understandably, that has some people upset. And, after receiving complaints, some big chains have yanked the dolls from their local stores.

Whether or not little Cuddle and Coo is saying Islam is the light, it's already being pulled from store shelves across the city, including all the Targets, and some of the Wal-Marts. But, is it really a carefully placed Islamic message, or simply gibberish that resembles one?

Target shoppers The News On 6 spoke with had trouble understanding the doll at first, but after they were told what she is allegedly saying, they immediately changed their tune.

"I can see it now after you told me. I can understand how it would be a controversy if it didn't have something on it about the other faiths as well," said Louis Hull of Tulsa.

"Yeah, that's what it sounds like. It sounds like that now that you've said it. Islam is the light. Huh?" said Tulsan Kathryn Christopher.

Intentional or not, given the amount of controversy the Cuddle and Coo Doll is causing, as well the response from big-time retailers, she may end up being silenced.

The News On 6 was unable to get in touch with Fisher Price, who makes the dolls, but, according to some reports, the company is offering a full refund to anyone who wants one.

Energy Independence

We will no longer stand by and watch as America's national security and economy become more dependent on the unstable foreign nations that we rely on for nearly 70% of the oil we use each day.

We spend nearly $700 billion every year buying foreign oil, which represents the greatest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind.

The new President and the 111th Congress need to enact an energy plan that reduces our foreign oil dependence by at least 30% within ten years.

This plan must include proven American technology and resources; the development of new energy sources; and the expansion and modernization of the national electrical grid to transport renewable energy to homes and businesses.

Delaying any further means tacit support for continuing America's addiction to foreign oil.

I urge you to join with T. Boone Pickens and his army of supporters in calling for an Energy Independence Plan to be enacted within the first 100 days of the new administration.

Lend your support at http://www.pickensplan.com.

$700 billion financial rescue plan...

WASHINGTON — Senators who voted against the $700 billion financial rescue plan make up one of the most curious coalitions of lawmakers ever to share common ground.

It included arch-conservative Republicans like Jim DeMint of South Carolina, liberal Democrats like Russ Feingold of Wisconsin and Bernard Sanders, independent of Vermont, who is regarded as the Senate’s resident socialist.

Taken together, the speeches of the 25 senators who voted against the plan on Wednesday amount to the Congressional equivalent of a dissenting opinion by the Supreme Court — impassioned, well reasoned, carefully articulated views on a landmark question of public policy that ultimately reflected the position of a minority of their fellow arbiters. If the bailout plan flops, they are the lawmakers who will be positioned to engage in a chorus of “I told you sos.”

Their concerns spanned a panorama of issues: frustration over the lack of long-term regulatory changes in the legislation; alarm that $700 billion in taxpayer money would be at risk; anger that the Treasury secretary would not be subject to more stringent oversight; skepticism that executives of firms that seek help would face limits on their pay; and dismay that such an important bill was being rushed through Congress.

And, perhaps most pointedly, they expressed skepticism that the bailout proposal would be able to restore liquidity to the credit markets, prevent the collapse of additional banks and safeguard the economy from a long recession.

“This package is just a very costly Band-Aid for big banks that will do very little to help patients who need major surgery,” Senator Michael B. Enzi, Republican of Wyoming, said in his speech on the Senate floor.

“Had Congress been able to use the regular committee process to craft a bipartisan and comprehensive legislation, the resulting bill may have gained my support,” Mr. Enzi said. “Unfortunately, Congress has been pressured into passing this bill in two weeks by Treasury and Wall Street. A rescue plan of this scale requires a clear plan of action with a substantial chance of success. This plan has neither.”

Some of the harshest criticism was leveled by Senator Richard C. Shelby of Alabama, the senior Republican on the Senate banking committee, who normally would have been his party’s lead negotiator on the bailout bill but removed himself because he opposed the administration’s proposal at its very core.

“The choice we faced was between pursuing an informed response or panic,” Mr. Shelby said. “Unfortunately, we chose panic and are now about to spend $700 billion on something we have not examined closely. Yes, in the end, we will have ‘done something.’ At the same time, however, we will have done nothing to determine whether it will accomplish anything at all.”

Mr. Shelby, in his speech, laid out a modern history of the American housing, mortgage and securitization markets, explaining how a bubble in home values was fueled by loose lending standards, exotic mortgage products and complex financial instruments, pushed by financial firms that were leveraged heavily to maximize profits.

And in many ways, he was already dishing out “I told you sos.”

“We did not get to where we are today by accident, it was a path we chose,” he said. “My warnings about the risk of basing credit decisions on well-intended social mandates rather than sound, fact-based underwriting were dismissed. My concerns about the inadequacy of the regulatory structure put in place in the financial modernization legislation went unacknowledged. My efforts to ensure that bank capital standards were designed to ensure safety and soundness, rather than industry concerns, were conducted largely alone.”

Mr. Sanders, the Vermont independent, complained that the bill did not put any limits on the types of distressed debt the Treasury could buy, that it did not provide enough oversight, that it did not include adequate provisions to limit home foreclosures, that it did not really limit executive pay at firms that seek help.

“Under this bill, the C.E.O.’s and the Wall Street insiders will still, with a little bit of imagination, continue to make out like bandits,” Mr. Sanders said.

He said the bill also did not do anything to prevent financial institutions from becoming “too big to fail,” effectively leaving open the potential need for future bailouts.

Mr. Sanders also said he could not fathom giving Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. such broad authority over so much money.

“Maybe I am the only person in America who thinks so, but I have a hard time understanding why we are giving $700 billion to the secretary of the Treasury, who is the former C.E.O. of Goldman Sachs, which, along with other financial institutions, actually got us into this problem,” he said. “Maybe I am the only person in America who thinks that is a little bit weird, but that is what I think.

An Issue of Choice

A Prayer

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day, I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you.

I ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of grati tude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. And give the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak... Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement. I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way. I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know You intimately. I pray for those that will delete this without sharing it with others I pray for those that don't believe.

But I thank you that I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight. I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees it.

Thanks Gloria for sending me this!
While looking for a image of praying hands I found this. It was so cute I had to put it on here.

Burgess Votes To Protect American People, Does Not Support Bailout Bill

Washington, DC, Sep 29 -

Our financial markets are stressed to the breaking point and decisive action is needed to prevent further harm to our economy. This bill was not the right remedy and there are responsible alternatives. My vote today was a vote to protect the American people, which is job one in the Constitution and a responsibility I take very seriously. I cannot in good conscience support a bill that exposes taxpayers to more debt, higher taxes, and untold risk. Rewarding such reckless behavior is hazardous.

Senator McCain and House leaders, however, do deserve tremendous credit for moving the original proposal toward one that puts the interests of regular Americans ahead of Wall Street. This is the point at which we should start discussing the alternative solutions that are out there.

Ninety-nine percent of the North Texans who have contacted my office have expressed disgust for any proposal that uses $700 billion in taxpayer funds to backstop our financial markets. I couldn’t agree more.

This is not over. Congress has a responsibility to help stabilize the markets and it is my great hope we do so in the near future.

Invisible Mom

Thought this was worth sharing because sometimes we all think we are not appreciated or things go unnoticed by those we are closest to. Thanks Dean for sending this to me.

It all began to make sense, the blank stares, the lack of response, the way one of the kids will walk into the room while I'm on the phone and ask to be taken to the store.

Inside I'm thinking, 'Can't you see I'm on the phone?'

Obviously, not.

No one can see if I'm on the phone, or cooking, or sweeping the floor, or even standing on my head in the corner, because no one can see me at all.

I'm invisible. The invisible Mom . Some days I am only a pair of hands, nothing more: Can you fix this? Can you tie this? Can you open this?

Some days I'm not a pair of hands; I'm not even a human being. I'm a clock to ask, 'What time is it?' I'm a satellite guide to answer, 'What number is the Disney Channel?' I'm a car to order, 'Right around 5:30, please.'

I was certain that these were the hands that once held books and the eyes that studied history and the mind that graduated sum a cum laude - but now they had disappeared into the peanut butter, never to be seen again. She's going; she's going; she is gone!

One night, a group of us were having dinner, celebrating the return of a friend from England . Janice had just gotten back from a fabulous trip, and she was going on and on about the hotel she stayed in. I was sitting there, looking around at the others all put together so well. It was hard not to compare and feel sorry for myself. I was feeling pretty pathetic, when Janice turned to me with a beautifully wrapped package, and said, 'I brought you this.'

It was a book on the great cathedrals of Europe .

I wasn't exactly sure why she'd given it to me until I read her inscription: 'To Charlotte , with admiration for the greatness of what you are building when no one sees.'

In the days ahead I would read - no, devour - the book. And I would discover what would become for me, four life-changing truths, after which I could pattern my work:

No one can say who built the great cathedrals - we have no record of their names.

These builders gave their whole lives for a work they would never see finished.

They made great sacrifices and expected no credit.

The passion of their building was fueled by their faith that the eyes of God saw everything.

A legendary story in the book told of a rich man who came to visit the cathedral while it was being built, and he saw a workman carving a tiny bird on the inside of a beam. He was puzzled and asked the man, 'Why are you spending so much time carving that bird into a beam that will be covered by the roof? No one will ever see it.' And the workman replied, 'Because God sees.'

I closed the book, feeling the missing piece fall into place.

It was almost as if I heard God whispering to me, 'I see you, Charlotte. I see the sacrifices yo u make every day, even when no one around you does. No act of kindness you've done, no sequin you've sewn on, no cupcake you've baked, is too small for me to notice and smile over. You are building a great cathedral, but you can't see right now what it will become.'

At times, my invisibility feels like an affliction. But it is not a disease that is erasing my life.

It is the cure for the disease of my own self-centeredness. It is the antidote to my strong, stubborn pride.

I keep the right perspective when I see myself as a great builder. As one of the people who show up at a job that they will never see finished, to work on something that their name will never be on.

The writer of the book went so far as to say that no cathedrals could ever be built in our lifetime because there are so few people willing to sacrifice to that degree.

When I really think about it, I don't want my son to tell the friend he's bringing home from college for Thanksgiving, 'My Mom gets up at 4 in the morning and bakes homemade pies, and then she hand bastes a turkey for three hours and presses all the linens for the table.' That would mean I'd built a shrine or a monument to myself. I just want him to want to come home. And then, if there is anything more to say to his friend, to add, 'you're gonna love it there.'

As mothers, we are building great cathedrals. We cannot be seen if we're doing it right.

And one day, it is very possible that the world will marvel, not only at what we have built, but at the beauty that has been added to the world by the sacrifices of invisible women.

HR 6975, the Jihad Prevention Act

Brand new push in Congress to prevent Shariah invasion Bill intended to assure citizens they won't be governed by Islam. Posted: September 23, 2008
8:59 pm Eastern

By Drew Zahn © 2008 WorldNetDaily

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., introduced a bill to the House of Representatives that seeks to prevent Islamic law from gaining a foothold in the U.S. legal system, as it has in other countries.

Tancredo introduced HR 6975, the Jihad Prevention Act, last week. If made into law, the bill would allow American authorities to prevent advocates of Islamic law, or Shariah, from entering the country, revoke the visa of any foreigners that champion it and revoke naturalization for citizens that seek to implement it in the U.S.

As WND reported, large Muslim populations in Canada seeking to live out their faith have convinced the Canadian government to permit the enforcement of Shariah.

The journal of the American Bar Association reported last week that Islamic court rulings are now enforceable in the United Kingdom as well.

The Lord's Baseball Game

Bob and the Lord stood by to observe a baseball game. The Lord's team was playing Satan's team. The Lord's team was at bat, the score was tied zero to zero, and it was the bottom of the 9th inning with two outs. They continued to watch as a batter stepped up to the plate whose name was Love. Love swung at the first pitch and hit a single, because Love never fails. The next batter was named Faith, who also got a single because Faith works with Love. The next batter up was named Godly wisdom. Satan wound up and threw the first pitch. Godly Wisdom looked it over and let it pass: Ball one. Three more pitches and Godly Wisdom walked, because Godly wisdom never swings at what Satan throws. The bases were loaded. The Lord then turned to Bob and told him He was now going to bring in His star player. Up to the plate stepped Grace. Bob said, "He sure doesn't look like much!" Satan's whole team relaxed when they saw Grace. Thinking he had won the game, Satan wound up and fired his first pitch. To the shock of everyone, Grace hit the ball harder than anyone had ever seen. But Satan was not worried; his center fielder let very few get by. He went up for the ball, but it went right through his glove, hit him on the head and sent him crashing on the ground; then it continued over the fence for a home run! The Lord's team won. The Lord then asked Bob if he knew why Love, Faith, and Godly Wisdom could get on base but could not win the game. Bob answered that he did not know why. The Lord explained, "If your love, faith and wisdom had won the game you would think you had done it by yourself. Love, faith and wisdom will get you on base, but only My Grace can get you home. My Grace is the one thing Satan cannot steal.

This story came from here.
